SINGAPORE: Firefly has extended the cancellation of flights between Subang and Singapore until Oct 16 as haze conditions worsen in the city-state.
Singapore's air quality continued to deteriorate on Wednesday, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) ranging from 127 to 203 as of 9pm, according to the National Environment Agency. Readings above 200 are classified as very unhealthy.
The Malaysia Airlines subsidiary had earlier cancelled all scheduled flights between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang and Seletar Airport from Oct 10 to 14 as a precautionary safety measure.
In an advisory, the airline said the extension affected six pairs of daily services: FY3122 and FY3123, FY3124 and FY3125, FY3126 and FY3127, FY3128 and FY3129, FY3130 and FY3131, and FY3132 and FY3133.
Affected passengers were being contacted and reallocated to available Malaysia Airlines services via the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, subject to seat availability.
Passengers who chose not to take the reallocated flights were eligible for a full refund, which would be credited to their original payment method within 30 working days, the airline said. — BERNAMA
