Nothing said the Cincinnati Bengals were “all in” more than the Dexter Lawrence trade.
Might Duke Tobin and the front office have another big move in them, though?
As the Bengals approach the NFL trade deadline, there are some obvious problems on the roster. And suggesting big trades isn’t exactly unrealistic anymore.
So, on the topic of Budda Baker.
Baker is one of the NFL’s best safeties and stuck on a hapless 2-4 Arizona Cardinals team. We’ve suggested the Bengals trade for Baker before. And now he’s listed as a fit for the Bengals by CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani.
Dajani on the Cardinals star: “Baker is still a stud, as evidenced by the Cardinals' upset win over the Rams on Sunday. He recorded six tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and one pass defensed. He stopped at least one touchdown from being scored, and he was effective in blitzing the quarterback and stopping the running backs. Someone come get him.”
The Cardinals already traded Marvin Harrison Jr. and Baker is only under contract through 2027, so he’s an asset that organization could be looking to move.
The Bengals are adamant Jordan Battle is still the solution next to Bryan Cook. They also have Kyle Dugger as a rotational third. But all three battled various levels of injuries before the bye week, so it’s hard to ignore that some really solid depth and even starters might be available at the NFL trade deadline.
