The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 to begin the 2026 NFL season, and their playoff outlook may not be as certain as it was expected to be at this point of the year prior to the start of the season.
ESPN gave the Seahawks a 59 percent chance to reach the playoffs this season, but just a 2 percent chance to win the NFC West, highlighting the difficult road ahead for Seattle this season.
Through six weeks, the Seahawks sit just outside of the playoff picture in the NFC as the No. 8 overall seed. However, their inconsistent start has left little room for error as they look to build momentum and keep pace with the division's leading teams.
The NFC West race remains challenging for Seattle, with the San Francisco 49ers leading the way at 6-0. The Seahawks sit second at 3-3, while the Arizona Cardinals are third at 2-4, followed by the last place Los Angeles Rams, who are also 2-4. San Francisco's undefeated start has created separation at the top, leaving Seattle with ground to make up in the coming weeks.
The Seahawks now face a critical stretch of their schedule. Seattle is set to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday before facing the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 8, and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. Strong performances in those matchups may help Seattle strengthen its positioning in the playoff race and improve its chances of challenging for the division crown.
