The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) has rescheduled the 2027 edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) to January 13–15, moving the event forward by two weeks.
The Dialogues were originally scheduled for January 27–29 and will be held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 16, 2026, the APN said the change was intended to align the event with the African Union’s continental calendar and avoid clashes with key commitments involving African leaders and other participants.
The African Union Summit is scheduled for January 30–31, 2027, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with Executive Council meetings preceding it on January 27–28.
The revised dates are also intended to accommodate Ramadan, which is expected to begin on the evening of February 7, 2027, subject to the sighting of the moon.
Convened under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, APD 2027 will bring together African political and business leaders to discuss practical measures to advance free movement, seamless cross-border payments and intra-African trade.
The event will be held under the theme, “The Africa We Want Is Borderless. Move Freely. Pay Seamlessly. Trade More.”
A key outcome is expected to be the APD Action Compact, a document outlining private-sector priorities, commitments and recommendations to advance Africa’s single market agenda.
The Compact is traditionally presented to African leaders during the AU Summit, linking private-sector engagement with continental policy discussions.
The APN said the 2027 Dialogues would take place at a significant time for Ghana and the continent, as the country prepares to mark its 70th independence anniversary on March 6, 2027.
President Mahama is also expected to be confirmed as Chairperson of the African Union at the forthcoming summit.
Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, said the President viewed APD 2027 as a foundational pillar in a landmark year for Ghana and Africa.
The Presidency also sees the event as an opportunity to build intellectual and policy momentum ahead of the AU Summit.
The APN has apologised to partners, sponsors and delegates for any inconvenience caused by the revised dates, particularly those who have already begun making travel and other arrangements.
Participants have been encouraged to update their calendars and participation plans. The APN Secretariat says it will assist with enquiries relating to the changes.
