SEOUL: South Korean comedian Maeng Seung-ji has announced her engagement to her doctor boyfriend.
According to The Chosun Daily, Maeng posted a video on her social media account last Monday titled "The Man Who Moved to See Me Every Day," which captures highlights from their love story.
In the video, Maeng shared how her partner—a specialist dermatologist younger than her—proved his devotion right from the start.
She said, "The second thing that caught my attention was that Dohoon's home is in Sinsa Station, his workplace is also in Sinsa Station, but he suddenly moved to Ilsan where I live."
She continued, "His home and workplace are so close—he could see me every day, and he wanted to be closer to me. Just three days after we started dating, he moved to Ilsan even though his workplace is a three-minute walk from his home in Sinsa Station. It was shocking and absurd, but I realised he truly loved and cared for me. That's how we ended up together."
Maeng also revealed how persistent he was before they officially got together, having first gone public with couple photos in August.
"Dohoon is a determined man. He confessed his feelings around twenty times without any hesitation or hurt pride, saying, 'When you're ready, come to me. I'll keep confessing.' We started dating after those twenty confessions," she recalled.
Delighted fans quickly flooded the comments with excitement, with one writing, "This is thrilling," while another asked, "Why not get married?"
Hinting at their upcoming wedding, Maeng replied, "At the time, I didn't have marriage on my mind, but now I should start preparing slowly."
