The US elections, closely followed by Bitcoin and cryptocurrency investors, are just around the corner.
With the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3rd, an analyst has examined the connection between these elections and the BTC price.
How is Bitcoin behaving after the US Midterm Elections?
Analyst Ali Martinez, closely followed by investors, brought up how Bitcoin behaved during past US midterm election periods in his latest post.
At this point, the analyst stated that historical data points to downside risks for Bitcoin ahead of the midterm elections on November 3, 2026, and explained the critical price level.
“With less than two weeks until the US midterm elections, investors may be overlooking a historical pattern seen repeatedly before significant price drops. And if history repeats itself, Bitcoin could be heading for another major correction.”
According to the analyst’s data, Bitcoin has suffered significant losses during the previous four US midterm election periods. Based on the data examined, the analyst stated that BTC experienced declines of 72% in 2010, 65% in 2014, 52% in 2018, and 27% in 2022.
The analyst noted that while this historical data and pattern are noteworthy, it cannot be said that these losses are directly attributable to the elections. According to the analyst, Bitcoin’s overall market cycles, liquidity conditions, and investor sentiment also influence price movements.
$73,000 Could Be a Critical Support Level!
The analyst stated that if selling pressure increases following the November 3rd midterm elections, the $73,000 level stands out for BTC.
The analyst noted that this region corresponds to Bitcoin’s short-term investor cost, and a recovery from this point could support an upward trend.
“…Historically, during stable bull markets, Bitcoin has often found support around this level after significant corrections. Therefore, a pullback towards $73,000 could be a crucial test of whether buyers are still willing to defend the overall uptrend. A sustainable recovery from this region would strengthen the bullish outlook.”
The analyst added that if Bitcoin falls to this level, instead of buying immediately, he would wait for signals indicating that selling pressure is weakening and demand is strengthening again.
