Kentucky pulled off an incredible 35-34 overtime win over Lane Kiffin’s LSU on Saturday night, sealing the win with a successful two-point conversion and improving its season record to 5-1.
The Wildcats had plenty of reasons to celebrate a statement victory against a prominent program like LSU. However, the postgame celebrations took a controversial turn as Kentucky fans rushed onto the field to mark the occasion, triggering reactions from former LSU players Jarvis Landry and Leonard Fournette.
Jarvis Landry and Leonard Fournette Take Aim at Kentucky Fans After Lane Kiffin Incident
Kentucky secured its second win over a top-10 opponent this season by beating LSU on Saturday, having previously beaten Texas A&M in Week 3. The result helped the Wildcats make a big jump in the AP Poll, moving from unranked to No. 15 in Sunday’s Week 7 rankings.
The win sparked an immediate celebration at Kroger Field, with Kentucky fans rushing onto the field moments after quarterback Kenny Minchey converted the game-winning two-point attempt. Amid the celebrations, several Wildcats fans also approached Kiffin and taunted him with offensive gestures.

Kiffin remained composed as he was escorted toward the sideline.
In the latest episode of the “4th & South” podcast on Sunday, Fournette and Landry sounded unhappy with the way Kentucky fans treated Kiffin following the game.
“No respect,” Fournette said about Kentucky fans.
“As a coach, I will say this about Lane: he held his composure very well,” Landry said. “I think because even as a player with all the emotions of that night around that game it’s so easy to lose your head… I think college football really got to look into you know that part of it all.
“People could still crash the field and all that, but the other teams, opponents should be able to leave the field before they storm the field. Because man, I know this has happened before where players and fans have gotten into altercations, and it got physical out there. But at the same time, what I saw with this Lane Kiffin thing was very much classless. It was very much filthy.”
Kiffin also discussed the incident during his Sunday media teleconference, explaining that stadiums typically use ropes or designated barriers to restrict access to certain areas of the field. He suggested that such arrangements could help prevent fans from getting too close to opposing coaches and players during postgame celebrations.
If a similar confrontation had occurred during LSU’s loss to Ole Miss in September, the tensions surrounding his exit might have provided some context for the hostility. However, no comparable incident occurred during that game.
Kiffin also said that Ole Miss had implemented precautions to keep spectators away from the field when the Rebels hosted LSU. He added that Kentucky might not have had similar measures in place during Saturday’s game.
