Lane closures on 14th Street between 75th Avenue and Heritage Drive S.W. are also in effect to support the repair, the city said in a news release. No southbound traffic was flowing on 14th Street S.W. as of Saturday morning, although one lane was expected to open to traffic as soon as possible.
Workers at the site of water main work in the area “experienced an unanticipated depressurization of the pipe,” the city said late Friday.

Due to the loss of pressure, water quality in the area could not be guaranteed, leading to a boil-water advisory affecting about 100 homes in Eagle Ridge. Heritage Park is also affected by the order.
Service is also disrupted for some 40 homes due to the main break, according to the city’s water outages website.
The boil-water advisory remains in effect until further notice, said the City of Calgary.
Tap water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before consumption. This includes water used for drinking, preparing hot beverages, making ice, cooking, cleaning raw foods, and mixing juices and infant formula.
Water for oral hygiene must also be boiled.
Domestic filtration systems alone are not effective, the city added.
Water wagons are also being provided to the area at 143 Eagle Ridge Dr. and 20 Eagle Ridge Pl. S.W.
