When the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned from a six-year hiatus in 2024, I kept my eyes peeled for one thing—the Fantasy Bra. But while the angel wings were back, the catwalk’s crown jewel was notably absent. Little did I know a record-breaking $50 million bombshell by Jacob & Co. was underway for this year’s extravaganza.
Kylie Jenner wore the piece, which came wrapped in 4,410 natural diamonds that spilled into a full flush of fringe from front to back. A 75.54-carat natural yellow diamond, graded “Fancy Vivid” by experts (the highest designation for color saturation), sat dead-center in the celestial gemscape. Each millimeter contoured to her body like a second skin, without the use of any textile fabrics. Drawing from his Rare Form jewelry collection, founder Jacob Arabo and his team of artisans laid the foundation of the ergonomic structure with articulated segments of precious gold.

“The Fantasy Bras have always stood out to me as a jeweler because they are true high jewelry pieces,” Arabo tells Bazaar. “We wanted to honor their legacy and raise the bar in every way to create the most valuable Fantasy Bra ever made. What matters most to me is the emotion it creates when you see it on the runway.”

I grew up in a family where being the eldest daughter meant no makeup, no reading Twilight, and no exposed belly buttons. So each year, I would plot a visit to my best friend’s house to watch the VS fashion show on live TV. It allowed me to teleport from the confines of tankini life to the land of spray-tanned glamazons with bare midriffs, sky-high stilettos, and vibrant plumes of feathers. I still remember 2006, when Karolina Kurkova emerged like a statuesque snowflake in a negligée made in collaboration with Hearts on Fire featuring 2,000 diamonds, with a 10-carat central stone. To me, it felt both liberating and transporting—an everyday object made magic.

Every year since, the show has brought a new high-carat confection tied to a fantastical theme, ranging in price from $3 million to $15 million. Arabo’s embellished masterpiece is the highest-value Fantasy Bra yet, but its ethereal splendor comes through in considered details, such as proprietary Angel-cut diamonds. Named after his wife, Angela, the cut is defined by 37 facets representing 37 years of marriage. After a two-year development process, the signature design arrived just in time for the making of the most opulent Victoria’s Secret bra yet. The patented stones glistened alongside pear, heart, oval, marquise, and round brilliant diamonds, each hand-placed with specialized settings.

“Each component was cleaned, filed, and pre-polished by hand,” Arabo tells Bazaar. “Fifteen artisans worked for more than 1,000 hours to bring the piece together. I started at the jeweler’s bench, so I have a great appreciation for the skill behind every part of this piece.”
