Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) -
Bali Governor Wayan Koster has reassured residents that fuel supplies remain sufficient across the island, urging the public not to panic-buy as officials work to resolve temporary distribution delays.
Speaking after attending the Bali Climate Week event on Tuesday, Koster dismiss, red widespread shortage rumors, attributing long queues at local service stations to delivery truck traffic and panic buying.
"Residents need not panic, as the fuel is available and its supply sufficient," Koster stated, confirming that stock levels at key storage facilities in Denpasar and Karangasem District remain stable.
"It should return to normal in 1-2 days," he added, explicitly refuting claims that provincial fuel reserves were diverted to support the MotoGP Mandalika 2026 event in neighboring West Nusa Tenggara.
To build public confidence, the governor invited residents to inspect the island's storage facilities directly.
Following a meeting with energy officials, fuel distributor Pertamina Patra Niaga, and business association Hiswana Migas, Koster directed suppliers to optimize distribution routes across the province.
Pertamina Patra Niaga reported that three fuel shipments scheduled for Oct. 12, 14, and 16 will deliver a combined total of 26,200 kiloliters to the island.
Daily provincial consumption of Pertalite (RON 90) averages approximately 2,200 kiloliters.
