EXCLUSIVE: Obsession‘s Megan Lawless and three-time Emmy nominee Lili Taylor (Outer Range) are among new additions to PRƎPPY, the true-crime flick from STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films that we announced in September.
Others include Gideon Adlon (Euphoria), Jaeden Martell (It), James Wilkie Broderick (Lady in the Lake), Jaya Harper (Roommates), Jahi Winston (Charm City Kings), and Alex Consani (American Horror Story).
The film, directed by Janicza Bravo, is now in production in Manhattan. Kit Connor, Diana Silvers, and Talia Ryder lead the cast, as we previously reported.
Based on an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck, PRƎPPY explores the summer of 1986 leading to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin at the hands of Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York’s Central Park. The shocking crime — in which Chambers was dubbed the “Preppy Killer” — captivated a generation and put privilege, class and sex on trial.
Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and John Buderwitz are producing for Aggregate, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo for STX, and Bravo. Elizabeth Marvel also stars.
Fresh off a breakout role in Curry Barker’s horror hit Obsession, Lawless’ earlier credits included The Girl from Plainville, The Hate U Give, and Table 19. She is repped by 42 Management & Production, Alexander White Agency, and Yorn Levine.
Taylor’s recent projects include Daredevil: Born Again and The Conjuring: Last Rites. She plays Mags Flanagan in The Hunger Games: Sunshine on the Reaping, out November 20, and recently wrapped a role opposite Billie Eilish in Sarah Polley’s The Bell Jar. She is repped by Independent Artist Group, Untitled, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
Adlon is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead; Martell by CAA, Emily Cho Talent Management, and Jackoway Austen; Broderick by Entertainment 360 and Innovative Artists; Harper by CAA and Untitled; Winston by WME and attorney Ryan LeVine; and Consani by Underscore Talent and IMG.
