LG Corp. (003550) said it began its annual business review meetings on the 19th at LG Twin Towers in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo district, chaired by Chairman Kwang-mo Koo, to draw up next year's business plans including artificial intelligence.
The business review is an annual gathering in which the chairman and the chief executives of each affiliate assess this year's performance and set business plans for the following year. It runs for about a month from the 19th. LG Electronics goes first, followed by LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Energy Solution, LG Chem, LG Uplus and LG CNS.
At this year's review, LG plans to focus on strategies for entering new AI businesses, including physical AI and data centers. Follow-up plans to expand partnerships with global big tech firms will also be on the agenda, including Nvidia, with which LG is working on physical AI, AI factories and mobility, and Microsoft, with which it has a partnership spanning AI infrastructure.
LG also plans to strengthen its "One LG" strategy, which aims to boost synergies among affiliates and pool group capabilities. At a meeting of affiliate presidents last month, the group reviewed investment results and strategy centered on key AI battlegrounds such as AI factories, physical AI and AI transformation. The business review will now produce concrete plans to carry them out.
Koo urged executives to move quickly, saying the group's presidents must have "speed and tenacious execution so that we can win in the future battlegrounds of AI."
