American company Head Honchos plans to introduce a specialized training program for Uzbek citizens seeking seasonal employment in the United States agricultural sector, according to Uzbekistan's Migration Agency.
The initiative was discussed during online negotiations between Migration Agency Director Mukhsinkhodja Abdurakhmonov and representatives of Head Honchos. The talks focused on coordinating practical measures to prepare Uzbek nationals for seasonal agricultural work in the United States.
Under the proposed initiative, Head Honchos will develop a 12-week training curriculum designed to provide candidates with the language and technical skills required for agricultural employment. The program will cover English language training, agricultural machinery operation, equipment maintenance and repair, welding, and occupational safety. The training is intended to prepare the first group of Uzbek workers for the spring agricultural season in the United States.
According to the Migration Agency, interest among American farmers in recruiting seasonal workers from Uzbekistan is growing. U.S. employers are expected to participate directly in developing the training curriculum, testing candidates and conducting final certification. Their involvement will form part of the preparation and assessment process for workers seeking seasonal agricultural employment.
The Migration Agency stated that candidate selection and training procedures will begin after applications are received from U.S. employers and the relevant selection criteria are approved. The agency has also committed to publishing information about admission requirements and application procedures.
