The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, a member of the Accord Party, as the coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Osun State.
Adeleke’s inclusion in the APC Presidential Campaign Council is contained in the revised list of campaign officials released ahead of the council’s inauguration scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The appointment has attracted attention because Adeleke is not a member of the APC but belongs to the Accord Party, while Tinubu is seeking a second term on the platform of the ruling party.
The development comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections and expands its campaign structure to accommodate prominent political figures and allies across party lines.
In the revised list, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was appointed campaign coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was named Director of Finance, while Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, were assigned responsibility for fundraising.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, was appointed Deputy Director-General for South II, while Minister of Works, David Umahi, will serve as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation.
Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, was named South-South Deputy Coordinator for State Assemblies Mobilisation.
Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will serve as Director of Stakeholder Mobilisation, while former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola will coordinate stakeholder mobilisation in the South-West.
The campaign council also includes figures drawn from opposition parties. Former Gombe State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, was listed among the council’s advisers.
Obafemi George was appointed an adviser on media matters, while former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo was named Deputy Director for Sports Sector Mobilisation.
Businessman Ayiri Emami will serve as Director of Special Duties.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari retains his position as Director-General of the campaign council, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole appointed Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation and Femi Gbajabiamila serving as Deputy Director-General for Administration.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma also retains his position as secretary of the council. APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, was named Deputy Secretary, while Hadiza Bala-Usman was appointed Assistant Secretary.
Dele Alake remains the council’s spokesman, while James Faleke will oversee election planning, coordination and monitoring as Deputy Director-General.
The expanded campaign structure underscores the APC’s efforts to consolidate its political machinery ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the party bringing together serving governors, federal officials, lawmakers, political leaders and prominent figures across different political platforms to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
