The meeting focused on concerns regarding the ongoing legal proceedings and the steps required to ensure accountability and justice in the case. Following the discussion, a 21 member convenor committee was formed to coordinate legal efforts and public awareness initiatives aimed at advancing the campaign for justice.
Three key decisions were taken at the conclusion of the meeting. The first was to put pressure on the government to file a supplementary chargesheet and ensure exemplary punishment for those found guilty in the case.
The second decision was to pursue legal measures to challenge the bail granted to the accused and seek their return to jail through the appropriate judicial process. The meeting emphasised the need to explore legal avenues to contest bail orders and strengthen the ongoing fight for justice.
The third decision was to continue the public movement alongside the legal battle. The participants resolved that efforts to secure justice for Zubeen Garg would not remain confined to court proceedings but would also involve sustained public mobilisation and awareness campaigns.
Additionally, a special legal cell will be constituted under the leadership of Dulu Ahmed. The proposed cell will include prominent and independent lawyers who will work on legal aspects of the case and help coordinate the campaign's efforts.
