Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has expressed grief over the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), and four of his children in a fatal motor accident.

In a condolence statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Governor Mohammed expressed sorrow over the incident on behalf of his family, the state government and the people of Bauchi State.
The governor extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Duguri Emirate Council, friends, associates, colleagues and the people of the state.
He also prayed for the full recovery of Suleiman, who reportedly survived the accident.
Mohammed described the death of Duguri as a monumental loss to Bauchi State, particularly the health sector, where he said the deceased had demonstrated dedication and commitment to improving access to healthcare services.
As Executive Secretary of BASHCMA, Duguri played an important role in advancing the state’s health contributory management system and supporting efforts to make healthcare more accessible, especially to less privileged residents.
His contributions also extended to the state’s medical team during pilgrimage exercises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he supported the health and well-being of pilgrims.
The governor said Duguri was not only a valued public servant but also his close personal friend and classmate, describing his death as the painful loss of a trusted companion whose life was marked by service, loyalty and dedication to humanity.
He noted that the death of four children from the same family in one incident made the tragedy even more heartbreaking, adding that no words could adequately express the family’s pain at such a difficult time.
The governor prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept their good deeds and grant Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri and his children eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for Suleiman, the immediate family, the Duguri Emirate Council, friends, associates and the people of Bauchi State as they mourned the loss.
Mohammed urged well-meaning citizens of the state to remember the bereaved family in their prayers and extend compassion and solidarity to them during the period of grief.
The funeral prayer for the deceased was scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the palace of the District Head of Yalwan Duguri.
The statement concluded with a prayer for Allah to comfort the bereaved family, strengthen those affected by the tragedy, and grant the deceased eternal peace.
