Social media influencer Lim Sian See, whose real name is Eric See-To, was questioned by police over a post regarding a Quranic word used in Budget 2027.
KUALA LUMPUR: Social media influencer ‘Lim Sian See’ was summoned to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) today to have his statement recorded over an online post.
According to a source, Lim, whose real name is Datuk Eric See-To, was brought to the Dang Wangi IPD at 12.45 am, before the case was referred to Bukit Aman.
The source added that Lim was later released on police bail.
Lim reportedly questioned the use of the word ‘lighad’ in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s speech when tabling the Supply Bill (Budget) 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday.
In the post, Lim questioned the term before sarcastically linking it to another word.
The word ‘lighad’, quoted from verse 18 of Surah al-Hasyr in the Quran, means tomorrow or the future.
