Two years ago, I could go to my local pharmacy, a five-minute drive away, to get flu and COVID shots at the same time. Since changes made last year by Danielle Smith, I have to travel much farther away to get a COVID shot, to an AHS clinic. I’m a senior and just lucky that I still drive. Otherwise, I’d be paying $25 for an Uber ride plus $100 for the shot. How is this an improvement in health care?

Furthermore, before the next provincial election, I want to know how many millions have been spent splitting AHS into four entities, and what, if any, benefits taxpayers have received for our money. I suspect this was to make it easier to further privatize our health care, one entity at a time.

An Edmontonian for six decades, I have been irked by the speed and scope of infill housing. I am even more irked by Premier Smith’s authoritarianism. For a politician who complains about Ottawa going outside its lane, she does a lot of swerving from lane to lane without shoulder checking.
At Confederation and when Alberta became a province, the population was overwhelmingly rural. As it is now very much urban, municipalities should have more power. Smith should mind her own business.
