THE Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said it signed a supplemental agreement with Global Aerospace Technology Philippines, Inc. (GATPHI) to expand its export manufacturing operation in Batangas.
The facility will manufacture aerospace parts and components for export to the US and UK, PEZA said in a statement on Sunday.
“The expansion will further enable GATPHI to support leading global aerospace companies like Collins Aerospace and Safran Aerospace, and strengthen the Philippines’ integration into the international aerospace manufacturing supply chain,” PEZA said.
PEZA said the facility will be located within First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Under the agreement, GATPHI will undertake the manufacture, fabrication, machining, injection molding, thermo-forming, and assembly of aerospace parts and components for its global customers.
This follows a registration agreement signed by GATPHI and PEZA earlier this year to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft systems at the Cavite Technopark-Special Economic Zone.
PEZA Director-General Tereso O. Panga said the project further positions the Philippines as global player in advanced manufacturing.
“This expansion demonstrates growing confidence in the Philippines as a competitive base for advanced manufacturing particularly for the aviation/aerospace industry,” he was quoted as saying.
The project will also provide opportunities for technology and knowledge transfer while increasing Philippine suppliers’ participation in the global aerospace value chain, PEZA added.
GATPHI President and Managing Director Jason Carl Tyas said its Batangas expansion will support the development of local talent and strengthen the country’s aerospace supply chain.
The Philippines has been pushing to expand its capabilities in export manufacturing to advanced and tech-driven industries such as aerospace.
The Board of Investments estimates that Philippine aerospace exports amounted to $603.1 million in the first nine months of 2025. Its export markets include the US, Singapore, France, and China. — Beatriz Marie D. Cruz
