Monero is climbing again. XMR trades close to $555 after a daily gain of approximately 4%, and the price is now pressing against a Fibonacci resistance line at $558. Buyers have been in control for weeks, and the move is starting to look like more than a brief bounce.
XMR's Unexpected Jump Up
The rally took off in August, when XMR jumped 43% in a single month and passed $500 for the first time since January. The price first broke above the $410 level, which had held back every attempt for months. A THORChain upgrade helped, as it lets users swap XMR across chains without a central exchange.
Supply being squeezed
That matters for a coin that is being pushed off many large platforms. Investors also moved coins into private wallets instead of selling, which leaves less supply on exchanges.
HOT Stories

The test now is $558. A confirmed break above that line could send the price back to $575. A larger breakout would need XMR to hold above $575 and keep building higher lows. If buyers fail at $558, the $500 area is the first support to watch. It was resistance for a long time and now works as a floor. A drop below it would show that the trend is losing strength.

There are reasons to stay cautious. In August, XMR swaps on ChangeNOW grew only 1.43% while the price rose 43%. That means the price ran faster than actual use. Past rallies also delivered spikes in social interest and heavy leverage, which often show up near short-term tops. In August, a whale opened a 4x leveraged long position worth approximately $14 million. Big bets like this can fuel a rise, but they can also cause sharp drops if they are closed in a hurry.
Privacy demand is there
Regulation is the bigger long-term concern. EU law is pushing licensed exchanges to phase out Monero by 2027. That could reduce access and liquidity over time, even though demand for privacy coins remains strong.
The trend is up and the setup is clear. Bulls need a daily close above $558 to target $575 and beyond. Bears need a break below $500 to change the story. Until one side wins, XMR is likely to keep moving in sharp swings around this zone.
