The Jacksonville Jaguars are starting to get their money’s worth with Travis Hunter, and Sunday’s London game showed just how dangerous he can be. Hunter’s one of the few two-way NFL stars, but he proved he’s fully capable of offensive and defensive roles during the wild Week 6 matchup.
The Houston Texans came away with a dramatic 34-31 win, but Hunter stole the show with his performance. Jacksonville received a major boost from the former Colorado Buffaloes standout with a touchdown catch and an interception on defense.
His epic achievement marks the first time an NFL player has posted a similar stat line since Philadelphia Eagles star Brian Dawkins did the same in 2002. Hunter’s primarily been a cornerback since being selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, the big takeaway from the Jaguars’ loss is Hunter’s bigger involvement in the offense. Trevor Lawrence targeted the 23-year-old four times, which resulted in four catches for 59 yards and the TD.

Travis Hunter shares NFL history with Eagles legend
It’s pretty good company for Hunter with Dawkins considering the type of career he had in Philadelphia. Only three players in league history have recorded the accomplishment, with Roy Green of the St. Louis Cardinals being the first in 1981.
The Jaguars’ offense certainly features a lot of weapons in the passing attack, including Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. However, there’s a clear need to keep Hunter on the field if he can continue to give Jacksonville explosive plays.

Liam Coen’s offense is very fluid and runs through different options seemingly on a weekly basis. In 2026, Washington’s been the lone standout at wide receiver, so perhaps Hunter’s role will grow further.

That being said, he’s also becoming a tremendous lockdown cornerback, which the team certainly values from a defensive perspective. Jacksonville returns to action in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts following their bye week.
