Chelsea scored twice in the second half winner to seal a 2-0 EPL win over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Saturday early kickoff in the English Premier League saw the Stamford Bridge side come out unscathed against a tough David Moyes side.
Cole Palmer’s speculative effort from 25 yards out was the only real chance in the first period. The keenly contested half also saw handbags from both James Tarkowski and Morgan Rogers that earned them yellow cards.
The Blues took the lead in the first minute of the second half through Pedro Neto’s clinical strike. The winger arrived in the box unmarked to sweep home Rogers’ cutback to stun the home crowd.
A nasty collision on 74 minutes between Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and Everton’s Jarrod Braithwaithe saw the former stretchered off.
Mike Penders replaced the Argentine goalkeeper who went straight to hospital.
Neto sealed the win on 90 minutes with his brace when a deflected free kick bounced into his path, and the Portuguese internal slid the ball into the net for the 2-0 win.
Chelsea made it two wins on the bounce, and Xabi Alonso’s side rise up to fourth on the EPL log with 13 points from seven matches.
