DIO Implant (039840.KQ) unveiled an artificial intelligence-based implant treatment platform, moving beyond manufacturing and sales to become a "total oral care platform company" that links data, AI and services. The company plans to secure medium- to long-term growth momentum by combining its AI transformation (AX) platform business with the manufacturing technology and extensive clinical data it has accumulated in the digital implant market.
"We will open a new AX ecosystem for dental care by connecting advanced AI technology with solid partnerships with clinicians around the world," DIO Chief Executive Kim Jong-won said at the DIO International Meeting 2026, held at COEX in Seoul on the 10th.
DIO AX is a platform that combines LG CNS's AI technology with more than 1.34 million clinical cases accumulated over the past decade through DIOnavi, the company's digital implant solution. The AI connects data across the treatment process — from alignment and verification of patients' cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and intraoral scan data to analysis of anatomical structures, suggestions for implant placement positions and prosthesis design — supporting clinicians' decision-making and medical productivity. Once DIO AX is commercialized, the time required for diagnosis and treatment planning could be shortened to one or two minutes from the current 30 to 60 minutes.
"We are automating and adding intelligence to processes that were largely manual, using AI and the cloud, to organically connect everything from diagnosis to the fabrication of dental appliances and final delivery," said Chang Min-yong, an executive at LG CNS.
DIO AX is being developed with the goal of completing technical validation of its core AI functions in the first quarter of next year. The revenue model is expected to be a subscription service that charges fees based on platform usage or the number of user accounts. "In various industries, software use leads to hardware revenue," said Kim Jae-hyung, a director at DIO's strategic planning division. "If customers increase their use of the AX platform, sales of existing products such as implants and prosthetic components will also rise." The company did not provide specific revenue projections for the AX platform.
