The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, saying the President has earned Nigerians’ support through his leadership and economic reforms.
Yilwatda spoke on Saturday at the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign in Kaduna, where he welcomed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to the North-West.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman described the rally as a defining moment in the party’s efforts to consolidate its achievements and secure another presidential mandate.

“Mr President, the people have spoken, and their voice is loud and clear. Nigerians are happy. Our women are happy, our youths are happy, and the people are encouraged by your leadership,” Yilwatda said.
He described Tinubu as a courageous leader who had taken difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of the country, adding that the APC was united and prepared for the 2027 election.
Yilwatda urged Nigerians to assess the administration not only by the challenges facing the country but also by its efforts to address longstanding structural problems and establish a foundation for sustainable economic growth.
According to him, the administration has demonstrated the political will to confront economic challenges, develop national infrastructure and reposition Nigeria for greater prosperity.
“The task before us is to consolidate the gains, deepen the reforms and ensure that the promise of Renewed Hope translates into greater opportunities, improved livelihoods and shared prosperity for our people,” he said.
The APC chairman added that a second term would give Tinubu the opportunity to build on the foundation laid during his first four years in office.
At the rally, Yilwatda presented APC flags to governors from the North-West seeking re-election, expressing confidence in the party’s leadership across the region.
He urged the governors to sustain engagement with their constituents, strengthen party unity and mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
Yilwatda described the North-West as strategically important to the party’s electoral prospects, saying victory would depend on grassroots mobilisation, effective communication and cooperation among party leaders.
He also commended the Kaduna State Government, Governor Uba Sani and the campaign organisers for their roles in the rally.
The APC chairman called on party members and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully, engage voters on issues and communicate the administration’s policies and achievements.
“The journey to 2027 has begun, and the APC is ready. We have a President with the courage to lead, a party with the capacity to mobilise and a vision centred on the prosperity of our people,” he said.
The APC began its presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday as political parties intensified preparations for the 2027 general election.
