Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a three-day state visit to Pakistan, as the two countries mark 60 years of diplomatic relations.
Muizzu, who is visiting Pakistan from October 20 to 22, was accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level delegation comprising cabinet ministers and senior officials.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar received the visiting dignitaries at the airport.
The visit marks the first time a Maldivian president has visited Pakistan in 11 years.
The state visit reflects the longstanding ties between Pakistan and the Maldives and the two countries’ commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, according to the statement.
