Mia Fishel scored her third goal in two matches as the United States Under-23 Women’s National Team defeated the Dominican Republic 6-2 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Georgia.
While the talented footballer represents the United States, she has strong Bermuda connections through her Bermudian father Patrick Fishel.
Fishel, who plays for Seattle Reign FC, opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the match, which was played on October 13.
U.S. Soccer said, “Seattle Reign FC forward Mia Fishel opened the scoring just 15 minutes in, making it three goals over the two games for her.”
The Dominican Republic equalised in the 35th minute before Gia Corley restored the United States’ lead shortly before half-time.
Melanie Barcenas scored twice in the second half, while Ally Sentnor and Caiya Hanks also found the net as the United States completed the 6-2 victory.
Fishel, who was substituted at half-time, had scored twice in the United States’ 5-0 victory over the Dominican Republic in the opening match of the two-game series.
