SK Shieldus is building an integrated security framework for small and midsize enterprises that covers everything from preventing cyberattacks to recovering from incidents and compensating for damages.
The company said on the 21st that it signed a three-way memorandum of understanding with the Innobiz Association and DB Insurance (005830.KS) to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities at smaller companies.
The agreement comes as cyber threats aimed at SMEs, including ransomware and supply chain attacks, continue to increase. It pairs security services with cyber insurance to improve how companies respond. The three parties plan to draw on their respective expertise to build a support system linking prevention, detection, response, recovery and compensation.
SK Shieldus will provide free security consulting and managed detection and response (MDR) services to roughly 7,800 member companies of the Innobiz Association. It will support 24-hour threat monitoring and breach response, and share the latest attack trends and countermeasures through cybersecurity seminars.
MDR is a service in which security specialists detect cyber threats in real time and handle everything from analysis to response. It allows SMEs that cannot build their own security teams to run a professional security operation. SK Shieldus plans to deliver the service using Secudium, its AI-based security monitoring platform, and Top-CERT, its dedicated breach response unit.
DB Insurance will offer cyber insurance tailored to SMEs to ease the financial burden of an incident and help companies return to normal operations. The Innobiz Association will guide member companies on using the security services and insurance, and will jointly run training programs to improve security awareness.
The signing ceremony was held on the 20th at SK Shieldus' Pangyo office. "As ransomware, supply chain attacks and AI-driven attacks spread, security risks for small and midsize companies are rising sharply," said Choi Jae-ho, head of SK Shieldus' Cyber Technology Center. "Based on our AI-driven MDR service and our accumulated experience in breach response, we will help SMEs build a safer IT environment."
