It was a rare night out for the Carter girls on Tuesday evening, as Beyoncé brought along daughters Blue Ivy, 14, and Rumi, 9, to celebrate the opening of the new Knowles-Rowland House in Houston, Texas.
As indicated by the name, the Knowles-Rowland House was co-founded by Beyoncé and her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland in 1999, as a gymnasium and youth center, with support from sales of the first Destiny’s Child single. However, in the wake of hurricane and fire damage, the space has now been renovated with the help of non-profit Bread of Life to act as permanent support housing to those who experience “chronic homelessness.” In addition, the venue will also provide social services like case management, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, life skills training, and nutrition assistance.

At the unveiling, Beyoncé looked radiant in a gold jersey dress from Et Ochs, which featured a blouson blouse and ruched draping all along the body-hugging fabric, with one sash hanging down the side.
She paired the look with leopard-print slingbacks from Amina Muaddi, and for an added element of drama, she left her blonde hair hanging down in bouncy, voluminous waves.

Beyoncé wore a gold dress from Et Ochs for the occasion.
Rowland followed a similar formula in a tan oversize pantsuit, which she layered over a black lacy cami and paired with platform snakeskin heels.
However, Beyoncé’s daughters each opted for sportier takes on the evening’s dress code. Blue Ivy, who towered over her mom in a pair of pumps, wore a green football jersey top from Bape, which she paired with light-wash jeans. Her curly hair, meanwhile, was pulled back into a high ponytail.
As for Rumi, she chose a black mini tennis dress layered under a cardigan with white trim, which she complemented with a set of chunky sneakers and white socks.
At the ceremony, Beyoncé had her mother, Tina Knowles, join her on stage, and later beckoned for her daughters to join as they cut the ceremonial ribbon.
Both she and Rowland spoke about the importance of the center to them, and Beyoncé remarked on its affiliation with St. John’s Downtown, which was her hometown church growing up.
“I made the choice on my own to be baptized because I felt the spirit here, and I feel the spirit right now, and I’m so grateful for that foundation,” the “Texas Hold ’Em” singer said. “And I love you, I love you, and there ain’t nothing you can do about it.”
The last public outing Blue Ivy made with her mom was in the Hamptons in July, not long after she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala with her mom and her dad, Jay-Z, in May. Meanwhile, Rumi has not been seen since she made a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl in February.
