"How hard is it to share a video, man, or someone saying, hey, what's up, people, man? How hard is it to do such a video?" he asked his followers directly.
He pointed to a past incident where similar concern had built up online, and a video of Oburu playing golf eventually surfaced and eased the anxiety. His argument was simple: a short clip is all it takes.
Broader ODM questions enter the picture
Beyond welfare concerns, Obinna used the moment to raise wider questions about the state of the ODM party. He noted that the timing is particularly charged, given the approaching commemoration of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and the delicate position the party finds itself in amid its broad-based arrangement with the current government.
He also touched on conversations around prominent party figures including Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino, questioning where their futures lie within ODM's evolving political structure.
He wrapped up with a direct plea to whoever might be watching:
"And if he is there, guys, do a video, man. Do a video. Share a video. Tell us, hey, what's up, guys?"
The clip drew a divided response online. A section of viewers sided with Obinna, arguing that a brief public update would be a reasonable way to end speculation. Others pushed back, insisting that an individual's health is a private matter and that the public has no entitlement to updates.
At the time of publication, neither the Odinga family nor the ODM party secretariat had issued any official statement about Dr. Oburu Odinga's current welfare.
