Jonathan Tah and Kai Havertz spent a long time together at Bayer Leverkusen and built a strong friendship that goes beyond the pitch before they both left the club. Havertz first left for England, where he played for Chelsea before moving to Arsenal, while Tah moved to Bayern Munich last season, and both players will meet this week.
Arsenal faces Bayern in their next Champions League game, and it will be an interesting match between two of the favourites to win the Champions League this season. The Gunners will want to win that match, but it would be easier said than done as they will be facing some of the best players on the planet.
Tah’s Praise for Havertz
Bayern also know that Arsenal would be a tough nut to crack, and it could be a thriller, even though Arsenal’s defensive style does not allow them to play adventurously, and it will be interesting to see how the Gunners’ attack will perform. However, Tah thinks Havertz is certainly still being underestimated around the world. He said, as quoted by Bavarian Football Works:
“Kai is my friend of ten years. Great character, amazing player, a player who is still underestimated, to be fair. I don’t think he gets the appreciation he deserves. We already talked about the game. I’m really looking forward to it.”

A Clash Between Two European Giants
Tah’s comments highlight the respect between the two players, and their reunion will add a personal edge to the fixture. Havertz’s quality has often been overlooked, but his role at Arsenal has been important. The German’s versatility and intelligence make him a key figure.
The match itself promises to be a fascinating tactical battle, with both sides among the favourites for the competition. Arsenal’s defensive organisation will be tested by Bayern’s attacking talent, and the Gunners will need to be at their best.
Bayern’s strength is well known, but Arsenal’s home advantage and recent form give them confidence. The encounter will be a measure of their European credentials. Havertz’s performance could be decisive, and Tah will be keen to get one over his old friend.
