The top prosecutors of North Korea and Russia pledged to jointly combat terrorism, smuggling and cybercrime during a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, signing an agreement on law enforcement cooperation.
Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan and his DPRK counterpart Kim Chol Won signed “an updated Cooperation Agreement” between the two countries’ prosecution offices, according to a press release from Gutsan’s office.
The deal appears to update the agreement then-Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Kim signed in Pyongyang in 2024. Krasnov became Russia’s chief justice in 2025, with Gutsan taking over as prosecutor general shortly after.
