Julia Fox is all dressed up in party-ready looks for Betsey Johnson‘s fall 2026 campaign, which launched Wednesday. The campaign brings together Fox and Johnson’s boundary-pushing styles and supports Fox’s nonprofit Rosebuds Reading Collective for women who are incarcerated.
Fox is back in Betsey Johnson looks after cohosting the brand’s Shopify pop-up launch last year and then receiving the Betsey Johnson Iconoclast Award from Johnson at the 2026 ACE Awards. Johnson was the inaugural recipient of the award in 2025, and the honor subsequently took on her name; Fox wore a revived vintage Betsey Johnson look for the occasion in May.
“Julia doesn’t try to fit in and neither do I. Normal is so boring,” Johnson said of the new partnership in a statement. “The holidays are the perfect excuse to go a little crazy with your clothes. Dress up! Entertain yourself! Nobody does that better than Julia, and I love that about her. I’m so happy she’s the face of this campaign and that we get to support her work with Rosebuds, too.”
Fox wears pieces catered toward the season’s major dress-up moments, including Halloween, holiday parties and New Year’s Eve. Her looks range from a red plaid dress and matching pumps to a silky white dress and crystal-embellished high-heel Western boots.
The partnership between Fox and Betsey Johnson isn’t just about fashion, however. They are also collaborating with Rosebuds Reading Collective, cofounded by Fox, which brings free books and creative writing workshops to women incarcerated at Rikers Island. With the help of literature and creative writing, the nonprofit fosters a space for connection, self-expression and imagining a life beyond incarceration.
Fox said in a statement, “Fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me, and I believe having a creative outlet in any form can be incredibly powerful. Rosebuds is about giving women a space to connect, tell their stories and imagine what’s possible for themselves. Books and writing can open up entirely new worlds. Working with Betsey felt like such a natural fit because she has always encouraged people to embrace who they are and express themselves without apology. I’m excited to bring that same spirit of creativity and possibility to this partnership.”
Through the partnership, Betsey Johnson will support Rosebuds with the Garden Variety fundraiser, a vintage carnival-inspired benefit at New York City’s Elizabeth Street Garden at 209 Elizabeth Street, where about 300 guests are expected to attend. The playful spirit of the brand will be present with Betsey Johnson’s iconic Duck Pond. Proceeds from the event will be divided evenly between Rosebuds’ programming and the ongoing care of Elizabeth Street Garden.
Additionally, Betsey Johnson will support Rosebuds with a ShoppingGives initiative, giving $1 from the sale of certain campaign pieces to the nonprofit; participating products will be labeled on betseyjohnson.com, where the campaign launched on Wednesday.
Fox has meaningful memories attached to Betsey Johnson.
On being named an iconoclast by Johnson, Fox told WWD at the ACE Awards earlier this year, “It feels very affirming. Betsey Johnson has probably been the first real designer that I ever became aware of. I would go to her store on Madison Avenue every day for fun with my friends. I actually wore one of her dresses for my eighth-grade graduation. So to have her recognize me now feels like a full-circle moment, like one of those pinch-me moments. Whatever I did, I must’ve done something right. I’m just so honored to be here.”
