KOTA BHARU: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized various beauty products believed to have been smuggled from Thailand, worth RM770, along with a Honda Jazz car valued at RM80,000 during an operation in Kampung Pulau Ular, Tumpat, yesterday.
Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the seizure was made at about 4 pm when members of the Strike Force from Battalion 9 were patrolling the Pengkalan Kubor area.
He said the officers stopped a white Honda Jazz that was moving suspiciously as it emerged from beneath Jambatan Ular, and found two pink plastic packages containing various beauty products.
“Further inspection found 22 packages of White White Orange soap, one box of Whitening Underarm Serum, one box of Sequil Chic and two boxes of Smooto BB & CC,” he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Radzi said preliminary investigations found that the beauty products were believed to have been smuggled from Thailand via the Sungai Golok route using illegal landing points, before being resold through the TikTok social media platform.
He said the 32-year-old woman driving the vehicle admitted to carrying out the activity about once a week, depending on customer demand, through her TikTok account, “Fealora Beauty Shop”.
The woman, the vehicle and all the products were handed over to the Pharmacy Services Division of the Kelantan State Health Department at 8.30 pm for further investigation, he said.
The case is being investigated under Regulation 7(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984.
