Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off a thrilling overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After spotting the Buccaneers a big lead, the Steelers mounted a huge comeback and ended up winning it in overtime with a walk off sack by defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
But not everyone was happy for the Steelers. ESPN NFL analyst Dominique Foxworth said he was annoyed that the Steelers won and was hoping they would lose so he could rip them after the game on his show, Get Up. This was shared on social media and prompted some strong reactions from the fanbase.
“I was annoyed that the Steelers won because they didn’t deserve it," Foxworth said. "I was looking forward to ripping the Steelers on Get Up. They decided to come off of a week where we thought no one could mismanage the clock worse than the NFL did that week and they decided to throw the ball twice on the goal line when they could put the game away. And somehow still got to overtime and managed to win. I was really sad that they didn’t lose that game. I wanted them to lose so that we could be like, ‘See?’ Now, everyone’s just gonna feel sad for Mike McCarthy’s injury and not point out that him and Aaron Rodgers decided to do unnecessary passes trying to throw a touchdown at the end of the game.”
