Flipkart-backed Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app super.money more than tripled its operating revenue to Rs 292.4 crore in FY26 from Rs 88.8 crore a year earlier, on the back of strong growth in its loan marketplace business.
However, its net loss widened 78% to Rs 263.8 crore from Rs 147.8 crore, filings with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) showed.
Launched as a payments app in 2024 after Flipkart separated from PhonePe, super.money has since become one of India’s top 5 UPI apps by transaction volume. The app processed over 400 million transactions per month for five consecutive months through September, per data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which manages the UPI system.
Last year, super.money acquired Y Combinator-backed fintech startup BharatX for an undisclosed amount, according to the Economic Times. The acquisition helped the company expand its credit offerings, particularly checkout financing products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and consumer durable loans. It also enabled super.money to extend credit on UPI on Flipkart and direct-to-consumer (D2C) platforms.
Reports have suggested that super.money is also mulling a stock broking foray. However, an official confirmation is not available in the public domain.
How super.money makes money
super.money’s core business spans UPI payments and loan marketplace services. It facilitates digital payments and loans through partnerships with banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), earning revenue from these arrangements.
Loan marketplace services contributed Rs 247.8 crore, accounting for roughly 85% of the company’s total revenue in FY26.
Other operating revenue stood at Rs 44.6 crore. In its annual financial statements, the company did not mention what counts as other operating revenue or how much it earned from this vertical in FY25.
Where did super.money spend in FY26?
Consumer-facing UPI apps tend to spend heavily on marketing to acquire customers in their early years of operations. Monetisation levers kick in later via credit and commerce. And this is exactly how it is playing out at super.money.
The Flipkart-backed fintech saw its total expenses climb 130% to Rs 557.1 crore from Rs 241.8 crore a year earlier.
- Business promotion expenses: super.money spent Rs 341 crore on marketing in FY26, a more than threefold increase from Rs 101.3 crore last year.
- Employee benefit expense: Stood at Rs 138.1 crore, including Rs 36.8 crore in ESOP costs.
- Marketplace charges: The company managed to cut its spending under this head to Rs 15.6 crore, compared with Rs 43.5 crore a year earlier.
In March this year, super.money, along with Flipkart’s other Singapore-based subsidiaries including logistics arm eKart, fashion e-commerce platform Myntra and travel platform Cleartrip, among others, merged into Flipkart Internet, as part of the company’s restructuring ahead of a potential initial public offering (IPO).
Overall, Flipkart Group posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 8,468 crore against operating revenue of Rs 1.45 lakh crore in FY26.
