Aras announced that Oticon Medical, a leader in bone anchored hearing solutions has selected Aras Innovator as its new PLM solution. The implementation will establish a product-centric digital foundation that brings greater control and traceability to product information while supporting the rigorous regulatory requirements of the medical device industry.
Oticon Medical continues to advance its bone conduction hearing portfolio with solutions including the Sentio System, an active transcutaneous hearing system that combines an implant placed under the skin with a sound processor held over the implant by magnets. The company is establishing a new SaaS-based PLM environment to better manage increasingly complex product and lifecycle data.
Aras was selected for its proven experience in the medical device industry and will replace Oticon Medical’s legacy document management and PLM systems. The Aras Medical Device Accelerator will provide built-in capabilities for design control, risk management, and quality processes, embedding regulatory compliance into everyday product development and supporting audit readiness.
Aras Innovator will connect product information across Oticon Medical’s enterprise environment, reducing manual handoffs between systems and improving data consistency. Teams will also gain greater visibility into product changes and their impact throughout the lifecycle, strengthening change control and cross-functional collaboration.
As part of the implementation, relevant product data and documents from Oticon Medical’s legacy systems will be migrated to Aras Innovator, preserving access to historical information while enabling the company to retire those systems.
The initial implementation will focus on document management, change control, and product development. Over time, Oticon Medical plans to expand the use of Aras Innovator to support and connect more core processes across the organization.
