WNBA journeyman Sophie Cunningham is enjoying some time off following the Indiana Fever’s run to the 2026 playoffs this season. Check out what she is up to off the floor.
The WNBA offseason is officially here, and players are settling into life away from the gym. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham changed her sneakers for a fun night out, attracting the eyes of the public as the team enters the most critical offseason.
Since the Fever’s playoff loss, Cunningham has been a hot topic on sports talk radio and television. Having played out her one-year, $665,000 contract with Indiana – in addition to being an unrestricted free agent – the veteran guard is a fiery debate among pundits and fans.
Though recent commentary has stirred up conversations about roster alterations and team chemistry in tandem with star guard Caitlin Clark, Cunningham has been unbothered.
With a big personality who is a strong leader and vocal presence on and off the floor, she remains in a good place mentally and professionally.
What’s Next for the WNBA Guard?
Cunningham’s high-powered spark plug status off the bench came in handy for the Fever during the 2026 campaign. While general manager Amber Cox and the front office explore their options for this year’s roster construction, Cunningham is going to make herself one of the buzziest names of free agency with her veteran savvy and marketability off the court.
For the present, the fan-favorite sharpshooter is wasting no time in enjoying her free time, as she told fans it’s all about surviving that cruel NBA schedule with the right amount of hard work and “me” time.
