In Israel, the general elections are taking place on Tuesday October, 27, 2026. It's the first election since the 7 October 2023 Hamas-led attacks on Israel and its subsequent conflicts in Gaza and with Iran, Hezbollah and the Houthis. Polls show neither the governing coalition nor any other of the many competing parties winning enough seats in the Knesset to form a government without the need to form a coalition with other parties, according to UCLA.
Netanyahu shares text on 'second holocaust'
Ahead of the crucial Israel elections, seen as most pivotal in the country's history, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a computer-generated image seeming to show a nuclear explosion in central Israel. The image was shared alongside a message by writer Yuval Bloomberg, who warned that Israel faces an existential threat from Iran. He argued that other political controversies in the country were distracting from the need to “finish the job” against Tehran.
The message urged voters not to choose a leader incapable of “completing the mission,” warning that such a decision could put their families at risk of a “second Holocaust.”
“We have another two years of Trump to finish the job in Iran, and there is no way of knowing what will come after that,” Bloomberg wrote. He cautioned that Kamala Harris or “some Mamdani equivalent” could succeed the US president.

Bloomberg also described the Qatargate investigations and the debate over military conscription for ultra-Orthodox Jews as “a giant smokescreen” diverting attention from what he portrayed as the Iranian threat.
Donald Trump has hinted that the strikes will resume after the US midterm elections on November 3. The two nations, which have been battling on and off over the past nine months, have temporarily halted strikes.

The State of Israel is in real and tangible existential danger. If the Iranians acquire nuclear weapons, nothing will ever be the same again. Everything is so trivial compared to the existential threat of Iran and the Shiite axis.
The staged and fabricated storms that crop up every so often are designed to divert attention from the one thing that matters most: completing the work in Iran.
This touches on the physical existence of every single person here.
We have another two years of Trump to finish the work in Iran, and there's no telling what will come after that—whether it's Kamala Harris or some other mediocre figure.
This is the window of time we have left to complete the necessary work to ensure our physical existence for the coming years. All the required resources of the state must be invested in this mission.
Qatar, Haredim, Urik, conscription, alerts.
It's all one giant smokescreen to hide the single issue that towers above everything else by a wide margin.
If two atomic bombs fall in the center of the country, who will care about all these fake storms?
Future generations will not forgive us if we miss the historic window of opportunity that allows us to try and complete the most critical mission facing our generation.
This won't happen with a prime minister who is held by the throat by the Muslim Brotherhood and terror enablers.
This won't happen with a prime minister who can't pick up the phone and have a continuous, intimate conversation with Trump.
This won't happen with a prime minister who can't withstand the pressure of a TV interview.
The hatred for Netanyahu, as all-consuming as it is for an entire camp, won't help against the Iranian nuclear threat.
Anyone who cares about their own physical existence, that of their family, and their loved ones should have a trembling hand before voting for someone who won't be able to complete the mission, thereby condemning themselves and their family to the danger of a second Holocaust, because of their political hatred or some foolish, insignificant blood libel storm.
Israel elections: Main contenders
In current Israel elections, incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu in a tight race with Gadi Eisenkot, a former head of the Israel Defense Forces, to become prime minister. Gadi Eisenkot formed his Yashar Party only last year. According to BBC, Gadi Eisenkot lost his son, a soldier, in the first months of the Gaza war, and served in Israel's war cabinet under Netanyahu until resigning in 2024 over disagreements about the conflict. He has built his campaign on calls for accountability over the security failures that led to 7 October.
Other opposition figures include former prime minister Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Lieberman, both right-wing politicians who take a hardline stance on security and support permanent Israeli control over large parts of the occupied West Bank. Yair Golan, a left-wing politician, by contrast, backs an Israeli withdrawal from significant portions of the territory. Despite their ideological differences, all three could potentially join forces with Eisenkot to form a government.
Israel elections: Magic numbers
To enter the Knesset, a party needs the support of 3.25% of the votes cast, known as the threshold. That figure is the equivalent of four seats, known as mandates. Based on multiple recent polls, out of 38 registered parties, only 11 are expected to receive such support. Another four hover close to it.
