The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has outlined the documents and verification requirements for overseas Pakistanis aged 18 and above applying for a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for the first time.
According to NADRA, applicants must provide the identity card or NICOP number of a parent or blood relative, along with a detailed foreign birth certificate, S1 form, citizenship or naturalisation certificate, and relevant travel or residence documents.
These may include a Pakistani or foreign passport, residence permit, travel document, or an Affidavit A attested by a Pakistani embassy or mission.
NADRA says applicants can have their application forms verified through biometric authentication by a parent or a sibling aged 18 or above.
If biometric verification is not possible, the form must be attested by a gazetted officer or public representative in Pakistan, or by a NICOP holder living abroad.
Applicants who have no family record in NADRA’s database must provide two NICOP or identity card holders as witnesses, along with Affidavit B.
According to NADRA, applications can be submitted through the Pak ID mobile application or at a relevant NADRA registration centre.
