His lawyers later sought bail on 12 October, citing his old age and illness. The court granted the application after a hearing.
According to the case complaint, around 50 people entered the New Gini Properties Ltd project area near ECB Square in South Manikdi under Cantonment Police Station on 26 September without authorisation.
The complaint alleges that the attackers fired around 50 rounds indiscriminately and assaulted people with machetes, knives and sticks, seriously injuring several people, including site engineer Md Parvez.
The attackers allegedly looted cash, laptops, computers, BRB cables, cameras and professional media equipment from the project site and vandalised vehicles.
The complaint estimates that the company suffered property damage worth around Tk1.42 crore and goods worth Tk1.50 crore were stolen.
The studio named Brown Fish, owned by content creator Salman Muqtadir, was also trespassed into, vandalised and looted during the incident.
When Cantonment police arrived at the scene after receiving information about the attack, the assailants allegedly fired at them. Police then fired five shotgun rounds in self-defence and to bring the situation under control, according to the complaint.
Two named accused were arrested at the scene, while another person was later arrested during a subsequent operation. Locally made weapons and spent bullet casings were recovered from those arrested, the complaint says.
