IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung has been pulled into another “controversy” regarding her actions and has being defended by netizens.
In the past, Wonyoung has faced criticism for many of her actions and her apparent “bad” personality. Some have accused the idol of being a “mean girl,” or “pick me,” though she has been defended nearly every time.
Viral Criticism About IVE Wonyoung’s Personality Triggers Backlash
Recently, IVE appeared on M!Countdown, where the week’s first place nominees were NCT WISH and A2O Lite.
A2O Lite took home their 3rd win, and one of the members, Rada, had a brief interaction with Wonyoung, who was standing beside her. Rada bows to Wonyoung, who nods back and claps as the group accept their trophy.

The clip went viral as some weighed in on the interaction, criticizing Wonyoung’s response.

Girl, Wonyoung is so stuck-up, or is she just keeping up that “queen bee” persona where she bows her head to nobody? LMAO.
— OP
why is wonyoung giving her that look.. https://t.co/COyVng1Bht

Wonyoung not even greeting a junior who greeted her warmly 🙄🙄🙄 https://t.co/9wGz8GEkM8

Others defended Wonyoung, reminding of the older idol’s seniority, and stating that her acknowledgement was appropriate.
Now some people in the quotes want Wonyoung to bow 180 degrees to this cute kid who just debuted, when she's eight years into her career. Wonyoung smiled and clapped for her, and that's enough. Being a senior doesn't mean she has to do extra for every rookie https://t.co/v5RZYE67YM

There’s absolutely NO reason to be spreading hate over a simple interaction. Wonyoung did nothing wrong, and neither of them deserves this. We will be blocking anyone who continues to spread hate towards either of them. Please be respectful and kind!!! https://t.co/Y8Wa7wtJFl
