INCHEON — The city of Incheon will train its own practical artificial intelligence specialists to strengthen data-driven administration in the public sector.
The city said it has been selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 2026 Institution-Tailored AI Champion Consulting program and will complete detailed implementation plans suited to local conditions by November. The move is aimed at securing frontline specialists ahead of a government certification system set to take effect in 2027.
Under the plan, the city will partner with the Incheon Human Resources Development Institute to create regular courses dealing with local public data. The program will cover 120 people a year through a Green track focused on building basic skills and a Blue track centered on practical work. The city plans to lead the digital transformation of its administration through field-oriented training.
