JOHOR BARU: Rainfall has failed to bring widespread relief from the haze in Johor, with seven of the state's eight air quality monitoring stations recording unhealthy readings today.
The latest Air Pollutant Index (API) readings showed Pasir Gudang recording the highest level at 174, followed by Kota Tinggi (170) and Pengerang (166).
Larkin recorded an API reading of 159, Batu Pahat 156, Tangkak 152 and Kluang 144, all within the unhealthy range of 101 to 200.
Segamat was the only district to record moderate air quality, with an API reading of 95.
Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was the dominant pollutant at all eight monitoring stations.
Residents are advised to limit prolonged outdoor activities, particularly strenuous exercise, and reduce their exposure to polluted air.
