Kieran Gill’s piece for the Daily Mail today is all about a subject which dominated headlines before the international break – Estevao’s increasing unhappiness about his usage at Chelsea.
Since then the winger got another feeble five minutes off the bench when we faced Brentford. He can’t be happy about it. The good news is that there’s a new documentary out about his rise to fame where it’s clear that, at least off the pitch, he’s delighted.
Estevao could get new contract as reward for patience
Estevao training for Chelsea
“Life in England, yes, I can say that I love England, I love England,’ says Estevao’s father. The player himself also had positive words for how he was being received in his new home:
“I see how much affection Chelsea fans have for me, I think this affection makes me feel at home, makes me love this club more.”
There is clearly going to be tension if the five minute cameos continue, but there’s talk of a new contract to reward the winger for his ongoing patience.
He’s likely to start next week’s game against Liverpool in the cup – and that will be a big moment for his season. It won’t be easy to break into our front 3, but he can lay down a marker for more minutes.

Chelsea’s new shirt sponsor is just for the season – but the company represented has already made it clear they’re considering a longer deal.
