PSG were hit with a major injury blow following their clash with Barcelona, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffering a torn ACL in his right knee. The French club confirmed the news in a medical update that also revealed injuries to Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos.
The Georgian winger, who picked up the injury against Barcelona, is set to undergo surgery in the coming days. PSG have yet to provide a timetable for his recovery or a potential return date.
His absence is a huge setback for Luis Enrique, who will be without one of his most dangerous attacking weapons. Kvaratskhelia's ability to beat defenders, stretch the field and create openings will leave the PSG coach with a major hole to fill in attack.
Dembélé has also suffered a left thigh injury and will receive treatment over the next few weeks. PSG did not reveal the severity of the injury or offer a timetable for his return.
Major injury headache for Luis Enrique
Marquinhos completes PSG's injury list after sustaining a right thigh injury. The Brazilian defender will also receive treatment over the coming weeks, adding a defensive concern to the club's growing list of attacking issues.
It is a brutal injury toll for PSG coming out of the Barcelona game: three key players sidelined, headlined by Kvaratskhelia's serious knee injury and upcoming surgery.
