It's a scary time for the Hurts family. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been ruled out for the rest of the NFL season due to multiple blood clots in his lungs. This comes after Hurts played a game on October 11 despite dealing with a blood clot in his calf.
Hurts was told not to sleep, as a precaution, ahead of the game. Yet the medical team allowed him to play the game anyway. After further testing, it was revealed that Hurts is dealing with deep vein thrombosis and a bilateral pulmonary emboli - blood clots in his lungs.
The terrifying situation has the Eagles in the limelight. In just about everyone's eyes, Hurts should not have been allowed to play after the initial blood clot in his calf was discovered. Regardless, Hurts is stable and will now be treated, thankfully before it got any worse.

Pamela Hurts, Jalen Hurts' mom, says "things could always be worse"
While no one in Hurts' family, and even himself, have come out to speak about the situation, Jalen's mother Pamela Hurts did post a subliminal message on her TikTok account. She captioned the post, "Things could always be worse..... #gratitudeisasuperpower". While walking around, she spoke about being grateful more than anything.
"Just a reminder y’all, be grateful. Be grateful for where you are and what you have because your life could change at a blink of an eye. Be grateful. What are you grateful for?"
The Hurts family is attacking this unfortunate news with positivity and optimism. Jalen should be able to recover and play next season, if everything goes as planned.
