GEORGE TOWN: All educational institutions in Penang will operate as usual tomorrow despite the prevailing haze, the Penang Education Department said.
In a statement, the department said it was concerned about the safety and health of students amid the haze affecting the country.
It said students attending school were encouraged to wear face masks as a precaution and drink sufficient water.
"Schools have also been instructed to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water for students and staff," it said.
The department also said parents or guardians concerned about their children's health due to the haze could consider keeping them at home, provided they informed the school administration.
"We will continue to monitor air quality and ensure the safety, health and well-being of students and the education community remain a priority," it added.
