Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Declan Rice lauded fellow countryman Harry Kane, ahead of Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.
“He is the clear winner. His numbers speak for themselves. The year he has had has been remarkable,” Rice told TNT Sports. “When you play with him, you realise how good he is, and when you play against him, you see how much of a pain it is.
“He is ridiculous, such a good player, and I am lucky I can play with him, not so lucky I have to play against him.”
Harry Kane’s numbers
By converting his 61st-minute penalty, Kane became only the second player in Champions League history to score in 10 successive games, last achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo – who scored in 11 straight games – between 2017 and 2018.
This season, Kane already has 10 goals and seven assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.
