A GIRL narrowly escaped injury after a speeding sand truck collided with her scooter on Belapur Road in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, with CCTV footage capturing the incident.
The video shows the truck approaching a stretch of road before turning right without appearing to slow down, striking the scooter travelling alongside it.
During the collision, the girl managed to grab the truck’s front bumper, preventing herself from being thrown away by the impact or falling beneath the vehicle.
She was later seen getting back on her feet and walking away as bystanders rushed to check on her condition.
The truck driver subsequently stepped out of the vehicle and inspected the scooter. He also appeared to exchange words with people who had gathered at the scene.
As more locals arrived, the driver reportedly fled the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck did not have a number plate and was allegedly linked to a sand auction operation in Mahalgaon, Vaijapur.
The incident has renewed concerns over speeding sand trucks allegedly operating without the necessary permits in the area.
Residents have called for stricter police enforcement against vehicles that violate road safety and transport regulations.
