President Javier Milei is in Washington, D.C., for a two-day visit that includes meetings with business leaders, a speech at the United States’ Chamber of Commerce, and several award ceremonies.
This is Milei’s 19th trip to the U.S. since taking office and his fifth this year. Only some of these visits have focused on bilateral issues and official meetings. Many, like this one, have instead centered on his participation in right-wing events.
Milei departed Buenos Aires on Tuesday night and arrived in the U.S. capital on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. local time.
In the evening, he is scheduled to meet with Argentine-American tech entrepreneur Andy Kleinman, president of Delphi Interactive, a company that developed a FIFA video game launched on the Netflix Games platform in 2025. Kleinman had already met with Milei in September last year.
Shortly afterward, Milei will meet with U.S. oil magnate Harold Hamm, founder and chairman emeritus of Continental Resources, one of the U.S.’s largest independent oil companies.
At 7 p.m., he will attend the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Gala, a black-tie, right-wing event organized by financial platform Latino Wall Street, where he will be the guest of honor and deliver the opening speech.
At the event, Milei will receive a “Recognition of Leadership and Global Impact as Part of Hispanic Heritage Month.”
Bolsonaro
Another speaker at the event will be former Brazilian lawmaker Eduardo Bolsonaro, who is also listed as a “distinguished guest” on the gala’s website.
He is the son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and the brother of presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro. All three are regional allies of Milei and share far-right political views.
Eduardo Bolsonaro has been living in the U.S. since March 2025. Last week, Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered his arrest so he can begin serving a four-year sentence for obstruction of justice and revoked his passport. The ruling cannot be appealed, although Brazilian authorities have not initiated extradition proceedings so far.
U.S. officials, right-wing leaders, and political commentators will also attend.
Chamber of Commerce
On Thursday morning, Milei will deliver a speech at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce titled “The Argentine Case: The Challenge of Economic Growth After Decades of Populism.”
He will also receive the “Global Champion of Free Enterprise” award in recognition of “his advocacy for the principles of free enterprise and economic freedom,” according to a press release from the Argentine government.
In the afternoon, he will attend an event at the Argentine Embassy in Washington, D.C., organized as part of Argentina’s current presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), an intergovernmental organization dedicated to Holocaust education and remembrance.
The event is titled “Expanding the Frontiers of Remembrance: Hemispheric Dialogue on the Holocaust and Countering Antisemitism – Advancing a Hemispheric Perspective under Argentina’s IHRA Presidency.”
Milei will depart for Argentina on a special flight Thursday night and arrive in Buenos Aires Friday morning.
